Our Certiport Authorized Testing Center has its home in the School of Business, Government, and Economics, and provides Microsoft Office Specialist certification exams in the McKenna 113 computer classroom.

Certiport Authorized Testing Center

Certiport Authorized Testing CenterSPU students, staff, and faculty may prepare for and take select certification exams offered through Certiport at SPU's Certiport Authorized Testing Center (CATC).  Our center is administered through our School of Business, Government, and Economics.

Currently, the center offers the 2019 Microsoft Office Specialist certification exams.  Specifically, students needing to satisfy the spreadsheet competency requirement which is needed in most SBGE and many FCS majors, may take the Excel 2019 exam (MO-200) through our center.

MOS exams on Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Access are available.

The MO-200 (Excel 2019) Study Guide is here.

Taking Exams

Exam services are available by appointment during the quarter;  however, scheduled exam times are available during the final two weeks of each quarter in accordance with the final weeks of the BUS 1700 course. Exams are currently available both on-campus in the McKenna 113 classroom or online through Certiport Exams from Home. Again, both exam formats (i.e., on campus and online) are by appointment only at this time. Some limited evening appointments are available. Please contact the faculty member for the BUS 1700 course to schedule an exam (currently Karen Park).

Preparation for the MOS exams are available through the Certiport associated LearnKey platform (for self-directed MOS training modules, including videos, memory games, and other skills building exercises) and the GMetrix platform (for CertPREP exam practice, the only Certiport-certified practice exam). Note that the Microsoft Office Specialist exam is engineered with the expectation that the student will receive 150 hours of instruction. Students in BUS 1700 have access to both platforms and two administrations of the Certiport Excel exam.
